One of the most important things to do before booking your trip is to decide first where to base yourself. If you are visiting the Amalfi Coast as a family with young children, Sorrento is your best option, whereas if you are a young couple staying in Positano or Ravello will be more suitable as there are a lot more steps and steep roads that are difficult for those with young children, push chairs or lots of luggage.
Personally, the best place we always reccomend to stay in Sorrento for the following reasons:

- Very safe and friendly neighbourhoods
- Pushchair friendly, less steps compared to other towns
- Activities suitable for Families, Groups and Couples
- Closely connected to the Island of Capri, just 20 minutes by boat
