Marina Piccola is the main Sorrento bay and it is the closest to our apartments, suites and villas. It is 2 minutes walking distance from Sorrento Old Town and 6 minutes from Tasso’s square, the heart of Sorrento. On the right hand side of the Marina Piccola there’s the harbour where you catch the ferries to Naples, the Island of Capri and Ischia but on the left hand side you will find the main beach clubs in Sorrento, with sandy black beach and sundeck areas where sun loungers and umbrellas are set up. During summer people can be packed like sardines whichever place you choose, we recommend to book sun bed and umbrella in advance, especially on weekends and in the month of August.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”Testo normale” _builder_version=”4.16″ text_font=”||||||||” text_orientation=”justified” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”]

There are four bathing establishments in Marina Piccola, all of different colors and styles, where you can rent sun beds, deck chairs and umbrellas, you can eat sea food or choose from the wide range of sandwiches or pizzas at the  restaurant or enjoy a bottle of wine at sunset.

Public beach in Marina Piccola

As in every part of Italy, don’t expect many beaches to be free. The only free beach in Sorrento Marina Piccola is a small strip between Peter’s beach club and Marameo beach. It is small and it gets very busy during the summer months.

Marina Grande is a colourful and picturesque fishing village on the edge of the Bay and during the summer, and especially on weekends, the Marina is full of people swimming in the cool  water. As in Marina Piccola, also here you will find mostly beach club on lava sand and Bagni Sant’Anna, built on the pier. There is a sandy beach but is really more for the fishing boats to be moored than to sunbathe or swim.

How to get to Meta di Sorrento

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”Testo normale” _builder_version=”4.16″ text_font=”||||||||” text_orientation=”justified” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”]

To reach the beach of Meta there are two ways:

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”Punto elenco” _builder_version=”4.16″ text_font=”||||||||” text_orientation=”justified” custom_padding=”20px||||false|false” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”] From the centre of Sorrento you take the bus line A direction Meta Beach/Alimuri, the trip lasts about 30/40 minutes (depending on traffic) and the terminus is right at the entrance of the shores. The bus terminates right down next to the Marinella and other lidos.

By car: if you have rented one you can reach the town in about 15 minutes and park your vehicle in the parking down to the beach.

Take the train from Sorrento to Naples and exit at Meta di Sorrento train station. From the train station to the beach, it takes about fifteen minutes on foot.[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column_inner][/et_pb_row_inner][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_4″ _builder_version=”4.16″ custom_padding=”|||” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_divider show_divider=”off” _builder_version=”4.16″ background_image=”https://www.sorrentovibes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Schermata-2019-05-09-alle-10.58.42-1024×467.png” height=”20vh” height_tablet=”35vh” height_phone=”35vh” height_last_edited=”on|phone” max_height=”20vh” custom_margin=”12px||20px||false|false” link_option_url=”https://www.sorrentovibes.com/pompeii-ruins-wine-tasting-private-tour/” border_radii=”on|5px|5px|5px|5px” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_divider][et_pb_blurb title=”Lido Marinella” alt=”Mediterranean Suites City Center” _builder_version=”4.16″ header_font=”|||on|||||” header_text_color=”#149c88″ header_font_size=”18px” body_font=”||||||||” body_text_align=”left” body_text_color=”#000000″ body_font_size=”15px” body_line_height=”1.5em” text_orientation=”center” custom_margin=”0px|0px|0px|0px|false|false” custom_padding=”0px||0px|0px|false|false” custom_padding_tablet=”|||” custom_padding_phone=”” custom_padding_last_edited=”on|desktop” animation=”off” border_color_all=”#149c88″ border_radii_image=”on|5px|5px|5px|5px” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Lido La Solara –  Capo Di Sorrento

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”Testo normale” _builder_version=”4.16″ text_font=”||||||||” text_orientation=”justified” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Just moving a little away from the centre of Sorrento towards Massa Lubrense, the scenery changes and I advise you not to miss the Baths of Queen Giovanna in Capo di Sorrento, where you can stay on a rocky area free of charge or enjoy pay to relax in a private beach club.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”Testo normale” _builder_version=”4.16″ text_font=”||||||||” text_orientation=”justified” custom_padding=”20px||||false|false” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”]

  • Public beach – It is a limestone cliff overlooking the sea, on which centuries before there was the Roman Villa of Pollio Felice, of which only the ruins can now be admired. You have to walk down a wooden staircase but once you reach the bottom you find a small natural swimming pool, surrounded by rocks, thus finding yourself in a place that simulates a fairy tale.
  • Private beach – La solara, a bathing establishment ideal for those who want to enjoy the tranquility of the place but with all the comforts. The latter also offers catering service to enjoy a delicious lunch with sea view.
